Regina's Looong Birthday

Since Regina didn't update the musings of her birthday, TC will have the honor of doing so.

Saturday, August 19, Regina and her friends all met up in their humble abode at Southbay to make their long awaited trip to Nail Tropics at Alabang Town Center. The rest of us in the kiddie crew - TC, Macie and Tito Lette - met up with the girls, Ate Boom and Kuya Mandy in Alabang. It was an interesting and relaxing morning at Nail Tropics because we had the place to ourselves. There was kiddie manicure and pedicure with nail art for Regina and her friends while I had the regular service with the massage. Blissful! Meanwhile, Macie got hooked on Barney on a car chair while having her haircut at Bum's, the salon for kids.

Then it was time for two hours of unlimited play at Timezone. While Regina and friends scampered around the place playing anything and EVERYTHING (unlimited swipes kasi), Macie had this very serious look on her face which meant she was trying to take in everything. And of course, I couldn't help snapping away with my camera while also playing some of the games. Ooh! Kuya played Time Crisis II too while Macie had unlimited carousel ride.

When the two hours were up, it was time for lunch at The Palms Country Club. When we arrived, everyone else was already there and practically done eating. So it was our turn to take advantage of the really yummy buffet. In the bowling alley side, Regina and friends had their own kind of lunch... pizza, pasta, ice cream, and a game of bowling. Then there was the blowing of the cake which everyone watched and picture taking of Regina with Macie, and friends.

Sunday evening, August 20, was another matter altogether. There were no classes and work the next day so everyone was at Butterfly for an impromptu dinner of KFC and paella. Parang hindi impromptu!

So after dinner, while a poker game for the boys, mahjong for the Titas, and I Spy for the kids went on, the indecisive Librans composed of Ate Boom, Ate Maricris and Ate Pebbles went looking for a cake for 12 am... Regina's real birthday. And when the clock struck 12, there was cheesecake for everyone.

That was it for the pre-birthday. It's up to Regina to relay the events of her real birthday. Pictures will follow in another entry.

Anna's Night of Jazz

Anna's real birthday is on August 22, but she celebrated her 18th birthday with the younger cousins and friends on the evening of August 19, Saturday.

It was a semi-formal event of jazz music, 1920s photos, comedic performances, and good food catered by Grams diner at the Palm Grove of Rockwell. And there, looking all dolled up and pretty was Anna in her birthday best.

It was interesting to watch the performances made by Anna's friends. It was also initially scary to perform for Anna, which became relaxing while Bam and I were singing up front, which got even better when people told us that our rendition of "You" was done very well. Phew! Para namang hindi kami nasanay na pinapakanta! Then Wappy did an impromptu of "The Way You Look Tonight". Idol!

There was only one sad thing in that debut... We (Kuya Dondon, Wappy, Bam, Crissy, JR, Toto, David, and I) were the "older" table amidst boys and girls 17 to 19 years of age. But that's ok! With age comes beauty and youth unwasted!

After the party, Kuya Dondon, Bam and I didn't want to go home just yet so we whiled the time away in Starbucks at Corinthian Hills with kwento all through the night.
