Libingan ng mga Bayani

Yesterday, October 29, 2006 (Sunday), I went to Butterfly for lunch. I was the only pamangkin who went, but during dessert, Kuya Dondi came. Later on, Kuya Wap came for Sunday Club. Sayang wala si Ate Caren, but it's okay. She was having fun playing with kids.

Anyway, it began with eye-opening conversations with Kuya Dondi, Kuya Wappy, Mama Vick and me. Boy, my eyes were opened alright. Too much for one day, I think. Then, we drove to Manila and passed by the Film Center. Then, we checked CCP for one of those shows about ghosts and stuff. We wanted this day to be Halloween-centered, but the show was late so we didn't get to watch.

We ended up in the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Cemetery of Heroes). We walked around and saw the graves of people like Carlos P. Garcia, Blas Ople and the like. There were a lot of Justices buried that Kuya Dondi knew. Then, as you walk around, you'll see that the place is divided according to where a hero died. Some crosses don't even have names because people weren't able to make out the faces of the dead. Unfortunately, we have a relative buried somewhere around, Lolo Apeng, Lolo Maning's brother who died in World War II. Anyway, it was an interesting and different field trip. We had to leave cause I had to be home by 6 and it started to drizzle. Too bad none of us had a camera so we have no pictures. Our photographer was at work kasi. Oh well.

Trick or Treat at Valle 6

As usual, Trick or Treat was early at Valle 6. But never mind that. It began with a Halloween party at the park. Matteo just looked so adorable in his homemade Gymbo the Clown costume. He looked just like the doll.

Regina (winner for Most Unique costume in October 2004), who came just in time for the actual Trick or Treat, was smashing in her pirate costume.

But Macie, once again, was the star. For the third year in a row, she won... Best in Animals costume! She was the Cat In the Hat.

Then the real trick or treat began. Instead of going with the flow, we passed a different route lest our kids run out of candies. And because they were so cute, and people found them so cute, they kept getting given extra.

But the real surprise was back home. Yaya Lally outdid herself again. Not only did she fix up the front of our house, she was dressed as the crazy lady again.

I am really happy I trick-or-treated there there was soo... much candy. It's either because:
a.The village is a garguantuan
b. Extra packages from relatives!!!
As T.C said Macie won another award she always does!!

Old Girls' Day 2006

Another Old Girls' Day has come and gone bringing back memories from the past. But there are things that remain a tradition, and that is the Velada of the year's jubilarians.

This year, all were present to watch Tita Naña, the golden jubilarian. In line with the theme of the program - Assumption around the world - their class represented Assumption India. They all looked so cute and glam in their colorful chiffon costumes while they did a belly dancing number. Macie was most awestruck. She seemed to have thought that Ninang was an artista, and was so starstruck by her presence after the show.

There's Tita Naña in yellow, right smacked in the middle. Plus a close-up on the big screen. (Click on images for larger view.)

To cap it off, Tita Baby, Tita Azon, Ate Pebs, Regina and I were all in our school uniform so we all got our pictures taken at the lobby of the Mother Rose Auditorium.

Lola Naña was really great!! I also liked the Flameco dancing culture with a modern touch! I liked the theme it showed the places with Assumption around the world! I liked also the last two Lion King (Africa) and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!!!!
