Touring Ateneo

At about 11:00 in the morning, after a kinda late breakfast wherein Regina's arm got stuck in the chair, Bam, Regina and I did a photo op Sunday Club at Ateneo. Bam was our tour guide.

So, what about Ateneo? We just wanted to roam around the campus and take good pictures with no one in it. And this is also how I realized that if Bam's teaching career doesn't work out (which, of course, it will), she'll make a very excellent tour guide (provided she knows the place). So Regina and I had a very thoroughly guided tour of Ateneo.

We went to the spot where the statue of St. Ignatius with the sword stands. We visited or checked out from a distance the buildings in the college area. Afterwhich we spent some time in sheer peace at the Gesu. Since we didn't have much time, we marveled at the view of the Bell field from the sidewalk of University Road. Our entire tour was just one major picture taking trip. You tend to appreciate the sights more when there are no people around.

Okay now its my turn. As T.C said Tita Bam would make a good tourist if she knows the place. She even remembered where the vendo was when I was thirsty! T.C was really excited she kept snapping and snapping pics of Ateneo! I was allowed to use T.C's camera because mine went dead.(She had brought 2 cameras) So I snapped many pictures too! We all had fun in the end.

Tribute to Tito Ding

The day began with a mass at the cemetery to commemorate Tito Ding's birthday in heaven. Afterwhich we had a hefty lunch of Pinoy food and Pritchon at Southbay. The Sunday Club was complete... well, dapat lang! Kuya Dondi was awake, Kuya Manolo was not working, Wappy was not the opposition, and Kuya Ting Ting was present.

Oddly enough, this lunch's conversation was all about the thrill of shopping in Bangkok, as well as the thrill of shopping with JC Intal, Doug Kramer, and Macky Escalona, with viewing of pictures to boot.

On to other things... After much kwento and a sugar rush on cake we managed to scrape another few hours for coffee and more kwentuhan time with Crissy and Anna. And as if that weren't enough, Bam and I managed to pull a last minute sleepover with Regina. Thanks, Ate Boom and Kuya Mandy! So the rest of the late afternoon until before dinner was spent at Starbucks Frontiera Verde, just us girls, our kwento, and our pictures.

Sunday Club Goes Bangkok

Sawasdee ka!!! Three members of the Sunday Club went to Bangkok and celerated their Sunday with the Loi Krathong Festival. It's when people light these candles which are on floating flowers and offer it to the river, particularly the Chaopaya River. It was so nice!!! I was able to video the fireworks and everything.

What were the other highlights of our trip...well, the titas were really happy cause JC Intal, Macky Escalona and Doug Kramer were with us. Hahaha. They were fun to travel with. Of course the trip wouldn't be complete without the shopping and eating. I think those were the best parts of the trip.

On to other things, traffic is still bad, their airport is beautiful unlike the ugly one we have here na nakakahiya. And the Baht is now playing around 36 and 35 while the peso is 49. Plus, their market is super clean and their fruits are humongous. Sarap pa. And the flowers were so nice everywhere we went. Oh well, the point is, we had fun anyway :D

The super clean market.

Tom Yum... And that's a carrot sculpture on top of the food.

Cemetery Day

Not ironically, this November 1 at the cemetery was unusually quiet and not gulo at all. Wala kasi si Ate Pebs and Kuya Manolo to animate the kwento time. And as usual, the mausoleum, a.k.a. the "house", was crawling with flowers as if Dangwa hit it. But anyway, the Sunday Club officers were complete in attendance (dapat lang!). Macie and Matteo tried to go but they weren't allowed so they stayed at Ate Regina's house instead.

So what happened? Nothing really. An afternoon-long game of mahjong went on (what's new!). Meanwhile, we just ate and ate and ate - adobo, siomai, siopao, pizza, ice cream. That's when we also concluded that Tito Dondi, Tita Caren, Tito Wappy, and Tita Bam are still very much in the same generation as Dad and Mom (Kuya Mandy and Ate Boom) because of a question Regina asked, "Do you know Transformers? Coz I only learned about it today." In which we stared at her like she were an alien from Venus.

Then Kuya Nolette, Ate Char, Kuya Dondon, Kuya Rocky, Crissy and Anna came and we ate again. Typical! No more chismis time either. All of Kuya Dondon's news seem to already be stale. None from Kuya Lito either. Time for new ones Kuya Don!
